About the
Program
This is a postgraduate program of 3 years tenure, recognised by the Medical Council of India. The course includes rotational postings in the Departments of Psychiatry, General Medicine and Paediatrics. The student is actively involved in the process of evaluation and plan of treatment for a given case under supervision of expert teachers in the field. The nuances of Psychiatric History taking and Counselling are learnt by the student both by observation and role play. The student is exposed to a wide variety of cases in the Psychiatric Out Patient Department and wards.
Our De-addiction Clinic, Depression Clinic and Social Outreach activities, further widen the scope of learning for the postgraduate student. This training is backed by a sound grounding of theory of Psychiatry imparted via the medium of lectures, case discussions, seminars, journal clubs and role play. This program aims to produce socially conscious Psychiatrists with excellent clinical and practical skills . They will have empathy for the patient and work towards improved social acceptance of psychiatric patients and their rehabilitation in Society.
